Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 3/4 cups milk (whole or buttermilk)
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional toppings: Fresh fruits, whipped cream, maple syrup, chocolate chips or nuts
Instructions:
- Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturers instructions.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add milk, vegetable oil (or melted butter), and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; be careful not to overmix—small lumps are okay!
- Lightly grease your preheated waffle iron with cooking spray or brush with oil. Pour an appropriate amount of batter onto the center of your waffle iron (about 1 cup depending on size). Close the lid and cook according to your waffle irons instructions until golden brown.
