Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (42g)
  • 1 package (10 oz/283g) mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal (about 180g)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional, 90g)
  • 1/2 cup rainbow sprinkles (optional, 75g)

Instructions:

  1. Grease the 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
  3. Once the butter is melted, add the mini marshmallows. Stir continuously until melted and smooth.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and quickly stir in the Rice Krispies cereal until fully coated.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula to evenly spread and press down the mixture.
  6. Allow the treats to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Optionally, top with chocolate chips or sprinkles, pressing gently into the surface.
  7. Cut into squares and serve!
