Ingredients:
- 3 ripe avocados (about 1.5 lbs / 680 g)
- 1 medium lime, juiced (about 2 tablespoons / 30 ml)
- 1 small red onion, finely chopped (about 1/4 cup / 40 g)
- 1 medium tomato, diced (about 1 cup / 150 g)
- 1-2 jalapeños, minced (adjust to taste; optional)
- 1/4 cup (15 g) fresh cilantro, chopped
- Salt to taste (about 1/2 teaspoon / 3 g)
- Freshly ground black pepper (optional)
Instructions:
- Halve the avocados, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
- Finely chop the red onion, tomato, and jalapeños.
- Use a fork or potato masher to mash the avocado until smooth or creamy, to your preference.
- Pour in the lime juice, mixing it into the avocado to enhance flavor and prevent browning.
- Gently fold in the red onion, tomato, jalapeños, cilantro, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Adjust seasoning with more lime juice, salt, or jalapeños as desired.
- Transfer guacamole to a serving bowl and enjoy immediately, or cover with plastic wrap pressing directly onto the surface to minimize air exposure.
