Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe avocados (about 1.5 lbs / 680 g)
  • 1 medium lime, juiced (about 2 tablespoons / 30 ml)
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped (about 1/4 cup / 40 g)
  • 1 medium tomato, diced (about 1 cup / 150 g)
  • 1-2 jalapeños, minced (adjust to taste; optional)
  • 1/4 cup (15 g) fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Salt to taste (about 1/2 teaspoon / 3 g)
  • Freshly ground black pepper (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Halve the avocados, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  2. Finely chop the red onion, tomato, and jalapeños.
  3. Use a fork or potato masher to mash the avocado until smooth or creamy, to your preference.
  4. Pour in the lime juice, mixing it into the avocado to enhance flavor and prevent browning.
  5. Gently fold in the red onion, tomato, jalapeños, cilantro, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  6. Adjust seasoning with more lime juice, salt, or jalapeños as desired.
  7. Transfer guacamole to a serving bowl and enjoy immediately, or cover with plastic wrap pressing directly onto the surface to minimize air exposure.
