Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon peanut butter or Nutella

Instructions:

  1. In the mug, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  2. Add milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined – don't overmix!
  3. Gently fold in the chocolate chips (and any peanut butter/Nutella) until evenly distributed.
  4. Microwave on high for 1-2 minutes, or until the cake is cooked through. Start with 1 minute and check. If the top looks wet, microwave for another 15-30 seconds. Be careful not to overcook – you want it fudgy!
  5. Let the mug cake cool for a minute or two before digging in.
