- 1/2 cup Milk (Dairy or unsweetened almond/soy)
- 2 tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1 medium Frozen Banana (sliced)
- 1–2 teaspoons Sweetener (Maple syrup, honey, or date syrup, to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 4–6 Ice Cubes (Optional)
- Pinch of Sea Salt
Instructions:
- Ensure the banana is peeled, sliced, and frozen solid. This is crucial for the best texture.
- Load the blender by adding the liquid ingredients first: milk and vanilla extract.
- Next, add the cottage cheese, frozen banana slices, cocoa powder, sweetener, and the pinch of salt.
- Secure the lid and start blending on low speed, gradually increasing to high speed. Use the tamper (if available) to push ingredients toward the blades.
- Blend until completely smooth and no lumps of cottage cheese remain (this may take 60-90 seconds on high). If the mixture is too thick, add a splash (1-2 tablespoons) more milk and blend briefly again.
- Taste the smoothie. Add more sweetener if necessary and blend for a final 5 seconds to incorporate.
- Pour into a tall glass and enjoy immediately for the best texture.
