Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup (165 g) packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups (280 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 g) salt
  • 2 cups (340 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Sea salt flakes (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar; beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in eggs one at a time and add vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips with a spatula.
  7. Cover the dough and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Scoop dough onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper, placing them about 2 inches apart. (Optional) Sprinkle sea salt flakes on top.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
