Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (227g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2g) salt
  • 3 cups (240g) rolled oats
  • 1 cup (170g) semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, beat softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Mix in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract, until well combined.
  4. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add to wet mixture.
  5. Fold in rolled oats and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Cover dough with plastic wrap and chill in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  7. Drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden.
  8. Let cookies cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
