Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) pasta (penne, rotini, or your kid's favorite shape)
  • 1 pound (450g) ground beef or Italian sausage, cooked and drained
  • 1 (24 ounce/680g) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 cup (240ml) water
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup (115g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup (60g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • Pepperoni slices, cooked mushrooms, bell peppers, black olives (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta, cooked ground beef (or sausage), marinara sauce, water, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour the pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the top.
  6. Add any desired toppings (pepperoni, vegetables).
  7. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.
