Ingredients:

  • 1 pound kielbasa sausage, sliced into ½-inch rounds
  • 4 medium russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in sliced kielbasa and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and sauté for another minute.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, milk, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. In the baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom. Spread the kielbasa mixture evenly over the potatoes. Add half of the cheese, followed by the remaining potatoes, and top with the rest of the cheese.
  5. Pour the cream mixture evenly over the layered ingredients.
  6. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  8. Let the dish cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
