Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups (192g) all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
  • 1 teaspoon (4g) baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3g) salt
  • 2/3 cup (160ml) warm water (around 110°F/43°C)
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
  • 1 pound (450g) store-bought pizza dough, thawed if frozen
  • 2 tablespoons (28g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 teaspoon garlic powder)
  • 1/2 teaspoon (1g) Italian seasoning (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups (170g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup (25g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • Chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • Extra grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Add warm water and olive oil, and mix until a soft dough forms. Briefly knead on a lightly floured surface until smooth.
  3. Unroll or stretch the pizza dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Roll or stretch the dough into a 9x13-inch rectangle on the prepared baking sheet. Aim for an even thickness.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic (or garlic powder), and Italian seasoning (if using). Mix well.
  6. Brush the garlic butter evenly over the dough. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly, followed by the Parmesan cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and starting to turn golden brown.
  8. Let cool for 1-2 minutes before slicing into breadsticks with a pizza cutter or sharp knife. Garnish with chopped parsley or extra Parmesan cheese, if desired. Serve immediately.
