Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (60g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
- Optional: 1/2 cup (85g) chocolate chips (milk, dark, or semi-sweet)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8x8 inch baking pan, or line with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a large bowl.
- Whisk in the sugar, cocoa powder, and salt into the melted butter until well combined.
- Stir in the vanilla extract, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips (if using).
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
