Ingredients:

  • 4 (6 oz) salmon fillets (170 g)
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning (30 g)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (30 mL)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened (115 g)
  • ¼ cup honey (85 g)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (5 mL)
  • ¼ tsp sea salt (1 g)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, honey, vanilla extract, and sea salt. Whisk until smooth and well combined. Set aside.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Rub Cajun seasoning evenly over the fillets and season with salt and black pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Carefully add salmon fillets to the pan, skin-side down.
  4. Sear for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy; do not disturb. Gently flip the fillets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until just cooked through (internal temperature of 145°F/63°C).
  5. Remove the skillet from heat and top each fillet with a generous spoonful of the sweet honey butter. Allow it to melt over the salmon for about a minute.
  6. Plate the salmon and drizzle any remaining melted honey butter from the pan over the top.
