Ingredients:
- 5 (6 oz / 170g) boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cups (225g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup (240ml) sour cream
- 1 can (10.5 oz / 298g) cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 tsp (2.5g) garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) black pepper
- 8 oz (225g) smoked turkey breast, finely diced
- 1/2 cup (55g) Panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp (30ml) melted unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp (8g) fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and arrange them in a single layer in a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sour cream, cream of chicken soup, garlic powder, and black pepper until velvety.
- Spread the sour cream mixture evenly over the chicken breasts and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese across the top to create a seal.
- In a small bowl, combine finely diced smoked turkey, Panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, and parsley. Toss until coated.
- Press the turkey mixture firmly onto the cheese layer to form a textured crust.
- Bake uncovered on the center rack for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the topping is mahogany-brown and chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving.
