Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions:
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl; let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
- In a separate bowl, mix flour and salt; slowly add the yeast mixture and olive oil; combine until a rough dough forms.
- Transfer to a floured surface; gently knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise for 15 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll the dough into a rectangle (about 1/4 inch thick).
- Layer pepperoni, mozzarella, and Italian seasoning evenly over the dough. Roll the dough tightly into a log and pinch the ends to seal.
- Place the stromboli seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Let cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
