Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef, lean
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, sauté the diced onion and minced garlic over medium heat until translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet; cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Drain excess fat and mix in beef broth, frozen vegetables, salt, pepper, and paprika; let simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter until crumbly, then stir in milk until just combined.
- Stir in shredded cheddar cheese into the biscuit dough.
- Pour the beef mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading evenly.
- Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit dough over the beef mixture.
- Bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
