- For Blueberry Topping:
- - 1 cup fresh blueberries (or frozen)
- - 2 tablespoons sugar
- - Juice of half a lemon
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, yeast, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together warm milk, egg, and melted butter.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until combined; knead on a floured surface until smooth (about 5 minutes).
- Place dough in a greased bowl; cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm area until doubled in size (about an hour).
- In another bowl, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine blueberries with sugar and lemon juice; cook until blueberries start to burst but still hold their shape. Let cool slightly.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Allow rolls to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar if desired.
