Ingredients:

  • 1 large egg
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • (optional) Powdered sugar for dusting
  • For Blueberry Topping:
  • - 1 cup fresh blueberries (or frozen)
  • - 2 tablespoons sugar
  • - Juice of half a lemon

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together warm milk, egg, and melted butter.
  3. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until combined; knead on a floured surface until smooth (about 5 minutes).
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl; cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm area until doubled in size (about an hour).
  5. In another bowl, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  6. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine blueberries with sugar and lemon juice; cook until blueberries start to burst but still hold their shape. Let cool slightly.
  7. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Allow rolls to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar if desired.
  9. Serve warm as breakfast or dessert!
