Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed, if frozen)
  • 3 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter (melted)
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to fit your tart pan. Transfer it into a greased tart pan or pie dish. Trim any excess pastry hanging over the edges.
  3. In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, chopped pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and melted butter. Mix well until apples are evenly coated.
  4. Spoon the apple and pecan mixture evenly over the puff pastry in the tart pan. Fold in any overhanging edges of pastry over the filling to create a rustic look.
  5. Brush the beaten egg wash around the crust of the tart for a golden finish.
  6. Place in preheated oven and bake for about {35–45 minutes} or until pastry is golden brown and apples are tender.
  7. Allow tarts to cool slightly before serving warm; you can dust with powdered sugar if desired.
