Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed, if frozen)
- 3 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon butter (melted)
- 1 egg (beaten)
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to fit your tart pan. Transfer it into a greased tart pan or pie dish. Trim any excess pastry hanging over the edges.
- In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, chopped pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and melted butter. Mix well until apples are evenly coated.
- Spoon the apple and pecan mixture evenly over the puff pastry in the tart pan. Fold in any overhanging edges of pastry over the filling to create a rustic look.
- Brush the beaten egg wash around the crust of the tart for a golden finish.
- Place in preheated oven and bake for about {35–45 minutes} or until pastry is golden brown and apples are tender.
- Allow tarts to cool slightly before serving warm; you can dust with powdered sugar if desired.
