Ingredients:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 3 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1/2 cup whole milk (warm)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
- Add eggs and warm milk to the dry ingredients. Mix until combined.
- Gradually add softened butter while kneading until smooth and elastic (about 8–10 minutes). You can use a stand mixer with a dough hook attachment if desired.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a clean kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1–2 hours).
- In a small pan over medium heat, combine diced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Cook until slightly softened (around five minutes). Remove from heat and let cool.
- Once risen, punch down the dough on a lightly floured surface and roll it out into a rectangle about half an inch thick.
- Evenly distribute cooled apple mixture over rolled-out dough.
- Starting from one edge of the rectangle, tightly roll up into a log shape.
- Cut logs into even pieces (about an inch thick) using dental floss or sharp knife.
- Grease or line your baking dish with parchment paper.
