Ingredients:
- 2 cups masa harina (240g)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (3g)
- 1 1/4 cups warm water (300ml)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine masa harina and salt.
- Gradually add warm water and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth.
- Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal balls.
- Preheat the skillet over medium heat.
- If using a tortilla press, place a ball between two pieces of plastic wrap and press until thin. If using a rolling pin, roll out between two sheets of wax paper.
- Place each tortilla on the hot skillet.
- Cook for about 30 seconds on each side until lightly browned and fragrant.
- Transfer cooked tortillas to a clean kitchen towel and wrap to keep warm until ready to serve.
