Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch (2.5cm) bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (sweet or smoked, your choice!)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste (approx. 1/2 teaspoon each)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). This ensures a good sear.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sirloin steak pieces with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Ensure the steak is evenly coated.
  3. Place the seasoned steak bites in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving a little space between each piece. Avoid overcrowding for even cooking.
  4. Cook for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to promote even browning. The cook time will depend on your desired level of doneness and your air fryer model.
  5. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature for your desired level of doneness: 130-135°F (54-57°C) for medium-rare, 135-145°F (57-63°C) for medium, 145-155°F (63-68°C) for medium-well.
  6. Remove the steak bites from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Resting allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more tender and flavorful bite.
