Ingredients:
- 1 (8-10 oz / 225-285g) round steak (top round or eye of round), about 1/2 inch (1.25 cm) thick
- 1 tbsp olive oil (15 ml)
- 1 tsp garlic powder (5 ml)
- 1 tsp onion powder (5 ml)
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (2.5 ml) (optional)
- 1/2 tsp salt (2.5 ml)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper (1.25 ml)
- Fresh parsley or thyme for garnish (optional), chopped
Instructions:
- Pat the steak dry with paper towels. This is crucial for browning.
- In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika (if using), salt, and pepper. Rub the olive oil all over the steak, then evenly coat both sides with the spice mixture.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
- Place the seasoned steak in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 5-6 minutes, then flip and cook for another 5-6 minutes. Check for doneness.
- Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature.
- Remove the steak from the air fryer and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Slice the steak against the grain and garnish with fresh herbs, if desired. Serve immediately.
