Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240ml) water
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, cut into cubes
- 1/4 teaspoon (1g) salt
- 1 teaspoon (3g) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon (2ml) vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon (3g) ground cinnamon
Instructions:
- Combine water, butter, salt, and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and immediately add flour. Stir vigorously until a smooth ball forms.
- Let the dough cool slightly for about 5 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in vanilla extract. The dough should be smooth and pipeable.
- Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe desired length churros directly into the preheated air fryer basket, leaving space between each.
- Air fry for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- While the churros are cooking, combine sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish.
- Immediately after removing from the air fryer, toss the churros in the cinnamon-sugar mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated.
- Serve warm with your favourite dipping sauce (optional).
